BBC Introducing Artist RIYA has received continued support from the likes of Rolling Stone and BBC, with her latest release playlisted and featured as track of the week. RIYA is ITV’s ‘One To Watch’. She has been featured in the ‘Granada Introducing’ series, which champions and showcases rising artists. Interviewed by Elaine Willcox, Riya was named a ‘Future Star’, and her songwriting compared to the likes of Taylor Swift. The feature was aired on ITV News and promoted across the ITVX website and ITV Granada Reports social media platforms.
She performed two sets as the solo act for ‘The Hundred X BBC Introducing Stage’ at Headingley Stadium in front of 30,000 people and was featured on numerous festival lineups, such as ‘Manchester International Festival’ at Factory International, ‘Sound From The Other City’, ‘First Street’, & Manchester Museum’s festival. Most recently, Riya headlined the Climate Live Stage at Latitude Festival 2024 as well as Beyond The Music Festival 2024 in Manchester.
Riya secured a place in the ‘Abbey Road Studios Amplify A&R sessions and was invited to the iconic Studio Two Control Room to meet with one of the UK’s leading A&Rs.
Hailed by Youth Music as ‘One To Watch 2024’: She’s already secured support from the luxury fashion brand COACH and ‘NEXTGEN’ projects.
She has performed for prestigious venues, including XOYO London, Macron Stadium, Troxy London, Barbican Theatre, the Tate Museum (scouted by Sofar Sounds), 02 Academy2 London for International Women’s Day, Oxford University and was selected as one of six to complete an artist residency with the iconic Glasshouse Gateshead in Newcastle.
A force to be reckoned with, RIYA writes and produces all her music, collectively amassing over a million views on YouTube, winning the top 9% ISC songwriting spot from over 30,000 applications.
One of 12 participants across Europe picked for the MCN LEC project, RIYA’s song was chosen for their advertisement campaign. She is trained to high levels in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, and piano with distinction in classical singing up to diploma level. The young songstress has a bright future ahead.
